Born February 25, 1969 in Moscow.

At the age of 7 was sent to a musical studio, piano class. Due to the fact, that the education program of a studio was based on examples of the classic and native folk music, the future composer disregarded the classes and generally had no interest in music at all. Thus, the formal education soon ended.

At the age of 10 Andrey on his own determined his future activities - stars, space and the Universe. To learn about them in details, he enters the astronomy courses of the Moscow Planetarium in 1980. But, by the twist of fate, he found himself interested in space music.

Beginning from 1984, Andrey Klimkovsky is a participant of a group "ALRADO", born within the Moscow Planetarium in the same year.

The first concert of the group happened in April 1984 and consisted of compositions of the group "Space" in semiacoustic performance. In summer 1984 Andrey writes several musical plays for this group in a very close to "Space" stylistics. The performance of them at the concert of "ALRADO" in October 1984 under the Planetarium dome created a sensation.

These and similar compositions will make up the album "Milky Way", published 13 years later.

At the same time with creation of new pieces and concerts under the electric stars, Andrey Klimkovsky is still getting prepared to becoming a professional astronomer and spends many days in scientific library of Astronomy Institute and many nights in the observatory towers under the real stars, looking at them, hearing their hardly distinctive voices and yet more music in them.

In the Autumn 1989 Andrey Klimkovsky deliberately interrupts his education in Moscow Physical Technical Institute and returns to the music.

For a short time he returns to the Moscow Planetarium and gives a number of exclusive concert lectures, playing his music under the same stars, this time along with the narratives about the Universe, read by the leading lecturers of Moscow Planetarium.
